Location: Seaborough, Dorset, UK
Subject: Flower Study
Medium: Watercolour
Date: 1950s
Signature: Knighton-Hammond
Dimensions: 34.5 cm x 45 cm
This flower study in watercolours has the strength and boldness of colour of an oil painting. The roses are three-dimensional created by the gradation of tone. As with the majority of Knighton-Hammond’s flower studies there is the odd flower on the table rather than neatly contained within the vase. He liked a less formal composition.
