This drawing was made from the fresco by Michelangelo Buonarroti in the Sistine Chapel in the Vatican. The drawing is dated 1911 so it would have been done from an image rather than the actual fresco. The composition tells the story – on the left are the fallen pair, on the right the pair expelled from Paradise. In the centre the anthropomorphised tree of knowledge with the female tempter. The drawing was exhibited at the Royal Watercolour Society Galleries in 1956.
