This watercolour demonstrates Knighton-Hammond's skill in the depiction of architecture. St Mary's Church is painted directly in watercolour with great freedom yet with great accuracy. One gets an impression of detail such as the tracery in the masonry windows sufficient for a full appreciation and understanding of the historic building. The thatched cottage and masonry boundary wall are of similar effect.
