The street scene may possibly have been undertaken when Knighton-Hammond was en-route to the south of France as the inscription mentions the sketches were carried out in 1922. A busy street depicted in both sunshine and shadow. The figures give life and scale to the composition. As always with K-H the architecture is so well drawn with linear perspective and detail.
