View through the trees to Cap Martin would not have taken Knighton-Hammond very long to paint. There is freedom in the brushwork creatively depicting the trees in the foreground. There would have been a quick colour wash for the sea and the peninsula of Cap Martin in the background. The sky has little cloud so again would have been a simple colour wash. Clever and effective.
