This view of Alport Mill on the River Lathkill has been painted with considerable delicacy with thickly applied pigment and bold accents of light and shadow. The latter being cast on the building by the large tree precariously overhanging the river. The decorative foliage of the river banks and trees are rich in form and muted colour. One can almost feel the mist coming off the waterfall.
