Courtyard Gateway is a very precisely depicted composition. There is great detailing of the brickwork of the pillers forming the gateway and masonry of the boundary wall. One can fully appreciate the materials of the buildings. The figures are very Edwardian in the dress as they walk towards the gateway from the courtyard. The foliage in the foreground gives colour to this very fresh picture which would be approaching 120 years old!
