This picture is dominated by the single arched bridge spanning the river and the maritime alps in the background. Using very few colours Knighton-Hammond has created a landscape composition of significant interest. There are a few trees either end of the bridge and along the river. The mountains are depicted in sunshine and shadow in a range of colours. There is an air of tranquillity and nature at its best.
