The Bent Tree stands somewhat precariously in the fence line. Other bows of the tree have been lost. The timber fence forms the demarcation in the fields. The hill on the horizon has cattle grazing. The artist has used a limited palette focusing on greens and browns but the gradation of the tones of the greens makes for convincing foliage and gives depth from foreground to background.
