Knighton-Hammond was commissioned by the FitzAlan family to a series of watercolours in and around Derwent Hall in Derbyshire. The main purpose was to record the house and grounds before they were lost under the proposed reservoir. The grand gated entrance to the hall from the informal garden has elegance and contextual harmony with the rolling hills beyond.
